The Lexar Professional USB-C Dual-Slot Reader is a pocket-sized card reader for photographers, videographers and drone pilots who move files from SD and microSD cards. Both slots support UHS-II cards at up to 312MB/s read, and they are backwards compatible with ordinary UHS-I cards at up to 170MB/s, so one reader covers a camera’s SD card and a drone or action camera’s microSD. The USB-C cable is built into the body, so there is no separate lead to forget, and an LED shows when a transfer is in progress. It runs on USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) and works in USB-C ports on Mac and Windows computers. Model LRW470U-RNHNU.
UHS-II · Up to 312MB/s
Fast Enough for Modern Cards
A card is only as fast as the reader you copy it with. Built-in laptop slots and cheap readers are usually UHS-I and cap transfers at around 90 to 100MB/s, which wastes the speed of a UHS-II card. The Lexar Professional reader supports UHS-II in both slots, reading at up to 312MB/s, so a full card of RAW photos or 4K video offloads in a fraction of the time. With standard UHS-I cards it reaches up to 170MB/s with cards designed for that speed, and otherwise runs at the card’s own rated speed — every SD and microSD card works, it is just a question of how fast. Real-world speed also depends on the computer’s USB-C port: the reader uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps), and in an older USB 2.0 port it still works but at USB 2.0 speed.
SD + microSD · Dual Slot
One Reader for Camera, Drone and Action Cam
Most people who shoot seriously end up with both card sizes: a full-size SD card in the camera and a microSD in a drone, action camera or phone. This reader takes both natively — one SD/SDHC/SDXC slot and one microSD/SDHC/SDXC slot — so there is no need for a microSD-to-SD adapter or a second reader. That is handy at the end of a day when you want to back up the camera and the drone together. It works with cards from any brand, including SanDisk, Lexar, Samsung and Kingston. Plug it in and the cards appear as normal drives, ready to copy or import into Lightroom, Photos or your editing software; no drivers or software are needed.
Built-in USB-C Cable · 25g
Small Enough to Live in Your Camera Bag
At 25 grams with the cable attached, the reader slips into a pocket or a camera bag compartment and stays there. The USB-C cable is part of the body rather than a separate lead, so it cannot be left behind, and the reversible USB-C plug goes in either way round. It plugs straight into USB-C ports on current MacBooks, Windows laptops and many tablets; it is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports. If your computer only has full-size USB-A ports, you will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter. An LED activity light lets you see when data is being read or written — wait for it to stop before removing a card, and eject the card in your operating system first to protect your files.
Right choice if you…
✔ Use both SD and microSD cards across camera, drone or action cam
✔ Have UHS-II cards and want to use their full read speed
✔ Work on a laptop with USB-C ports
✔ Want a compact reader with no loose cable to lose
Consider something else if…
✘ Your computer only has USB-A ports — you will need an adapter
✘ You use CFexpress or CompactFlash cards — this reader takes SD and microSD only
✘ You need more than 5Gbps for very fast cards — look for a USB 3.2 Gen 2 reader

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with UHS-I cards?
Yes. Both slots are backwards compatible with UHS-I SD and microSD cards, at up to 170MB/s with cards rated for that speed and otherwise at the card’s own speed.
Will it work with my computer’s USB-A port?
The reader has a built-in USB-C plug. For a USB-A port you need a USB-C to USB-A adapter; speed then depends on that port.
Can I use it with Mac and Windows?
Yes. It works with macOS and Windows computers that have a USB-C port, with no drivers needed. It is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports.
Do I need a microSD adapter?
No. The reader has a dedicated microSD slot as well as a full-size SD slot.
What is the warranty?
Lexar covers the reader with a two-year limited manufacturer warranty.
