The Denon AH-C720 was the flagship of Denon’s wired in-ear line, launched at around $149 and aimed at listeners who wanted genuine hi-fi detail without moving to custom monitors. Each earpiece houses an 11.5mm dynamic driver with a frequency response from 5Hz to 40kHz, giving deep, controlled bass and the extended treble needed for high-resolution recordings.
The housings combine die-cast aluminium with resin to damp unwanted resonance, and the oxygen-free copper cable is covered in a fibre mesh that resists tangling, while Denon’s Radial Cascade Damper reduces noise transmitted along the cable. At 16Ω with 110dB/mW sensitivity, the AH-C720 plays loud and clean straight from a phone. There is no microphone or remote — a pure listening design. This is a discontinued model: units are brand new and unused, supplied in bulk packaging without the original Denon retail box. Available in silver while stock lasts.
Sound
11.5mm Driver, 5Hz–40kHz
The AH-C720 uses a large 11.5mm dynamic driver for an in-ear, which moves more air than the 8–10mm drivers typical of everyday earphones. The result is a full, weighty low end that stays tight, a natural midrange that keeps vocals and instruments in proportion, and treble that extends to 40kHz — beyond the range of CD audio and into hi-res territory. With high-resolution files from a capable player or DAC, the extra headroom gives a more open, detailed presentation than budget in-ears can manage.
Build
Die-Cast Aluminium Housing
The earpieces are made from die-cast aluminium combined with resin, a hybrid construction chosen to control resonance inside the housing so the driver sounds cleaner. The cable is oxygen-free copper with a fibre-mesh outer cover that resists tangling and kinking, and the Denon Radial Cascade Damper reduces the rustle and thump transmitted along the cable when you walk — a common annoyance with in-ear monitors. The silver finish gives the AH-C720 a premium look to match its sound.
Fit
Comfortable, Sealed In-Ear Fit
A good seal is essential for bass and isolation. The angled nozzle sits naturally in the ear canal, and the 1.3m cable can be worn straight down or routed over the ear for a more secure fit on the move. At 16Ω the AH-C720 does not need a headphone amplifier, but it scales up nicely with a good portable DAC. Note: this listing is for bulk-packed units without the original retail box and its full accessory kit; ear tips are supplied with the earphones.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these new or refurbished?
Brand new and unused. The AH-C720 is a discontinued Denon model, and these units come in bulk packaging rather than the original retail box.
Does the AH-C720 have a microphone?
No. The AH-C720 has a plain cable with no microphone or remote, designed purely for music listening.
Is the Denon AH-C720 hi-res?
Its frequency response extends to 40kHz, beyond CD range, so it can reproduce the extended treble in high-resolution recordings when paired with a hi-res capable player or DAC.
Do I need an amplifier?
No. With 16Ω impedance and 110dB/mW sensitivity it plays loud and clean from a phone. A good portable DAC can still improve detail and dynamics.
Will it work with an iPhone or USB-C phone?
Yes, with a Lightning or USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, since newer phones have no headphone jack.
