- ✓ Razer Optical Switches Gen-2 · 70M clicks · 11 Chroma RGB zones
The Razer Basilisk V3 wired esports gaming mouse is Razer’s flagship customisable ergonomic gaming mouse — a right-handed wired mouse built around the Basilisk’s established ergonomic form with a substantially expanded feature set. The Focus+ optical sensor tracks at up to 26,000 DPI with 650 IPS speed tracking and 50G acceleration tolerance — specifications that exceed what any human player can physically generate, meaning the sensor performance does not constrain play at any sensitivity setting. Razer Synapse software allows 5 DPI presets to be configured and cycled through during play. The HyperScroll Tilt Wheel is the Basilisk V3’s most discussed feature: it operates with a smart reel mechanism that detects scroll speed and automatically disengages the tactile ratchet when the wheel is spun quickly, switching from notched line-by-line scrolling to free-spinning mode — identical in concept to Logitech’s SmartWheel but implemented in Razer’s hardware. The same wheel tilts left and right for horizontal scrolling. The DPI clutch (sniper button), positioned under the thumb, temporarily changes DPI to a preset lower sensitivity when held — useful for precise aiming in FPS games. Hypershift is a second-function system: holding the Hypershift button (assignable to any physical button) activates an alternate function for every other button on the mouse, effectively doubling the number of unique programmable actions to 22. Razer Optical Switches Gen-2 use a beam of light rather than physical contact for button registration — they activate the moment the button breaks the light beam, which is faster than mechanical contact closure and eliminates the physical wear mechanism that causes mechanical switch double-clicking over time. Genuine Razer. 2-year warranty.
Focus+ 26K DPI Sensor
650 IPS · 50G · Asymmetric Cut-off
The Focus+ sensor in the Basilisk V3 is Razer’s highest-tier optical sensor at the time of the mouse’s launch, rated at 26,000 DPI maximum with 650 IPS maximum tracking speed and 50G maximum acceleration. Both the speed and acceleration figures exceed the physical capability of any human player — the sensor will maintain accurate tracking through any physical mouse movement a player can produce. DPI is configurable from 100 to 26,000 in increments of 50, with five presets that can be cycled through via the DPI stage button on top of the mouse without entering software. The Focus+ sensor also includes Razer’s asymmetric lift-off and landing distance feature: through Synapse, the distance at which the sensor stops and resumes tracking when the mouse is lifted off the pad can be set independently for lift-off (the height at which tracking stops when lifting) and landing (the height at which tracking resumes when replacing the mouse). This allows players who frequently lift and reposition the mouse to set a very low lift-off distance, eliminating spurious cursor movement when repositioning the mouse mid-game.
HyperScroll Tilt Wheel
Smart Auto Free-Spin + Tactile + Tilt
The HyperScroll Tilt Wheel provides three scroll functions in one physical control. Standard scroll mode operates with a tactile ratchet — each notch of the wheel moves the content a fixed amount, providing controlled, precise navigation. When the wheel is spun quickly, the smart reel mechanism automatically disengages the ratchet and the wheel enters free-spinning mode, allowing it to spin under inertia for high-speed traversal of long documents, webpages or code files. The transition between modes is automatic and requires no button press. The wheel returns to ratchet mode when spinning slows below the threshold. Tilt scrolling is accessed by physically pushing the scroll wheel left or right — this sends horizontal scroll input, allowing navigation through wide spreadsheets and design files without using a horizontal scroll bar. All three functions are usable with standard Windows, macOS and Linux scroll events without requiring Synapse software. In Synapse, the free-spin sensitivity and speed threshold can be adjusted.
11 Buttons · Hypershift · Optical Switches
22 Unique Actions · 70M Click Durability
The Basilisk V3 provides 11 programmable buttons: left click, right click, scroll wheel click, DPI stage button, Hypershift button, two side buttons, scroll tilt left, scroll tilt right, a profile cycle button (underneath) and the DPI clutch. Hypershift is Razer Synapse’s second-layer function system — holding the designated Hypershift button activates alternate functions for all other buttons simultaneously, effectively providing 22 unique in-game actions from 11 physical buttons. Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-2 use a light beam and phototransistor for button detection: the button breaks the beam when pressed, triggering registration. This is faster than the physical contact closure of mechanical switches and eliminates the wear mechanism — no physical contacts degrading over time — giving the switch a rated life of 70 million clicks without double-clicking issues. The Speedflex cable uses a woven fibre construction that is thinner and more supple than standard braided cables, producing less drag when the mouse moves across the pad — important for low-sensitivity players who make large arm movements.
Great choice if you…
✔ Want maximum button count and customisation on a wired gaming mouse
✔ Use a right-handed ergonomic palm or claw grip for extended sessions
✔ Want a DPI clutch (sniper button) for temporary sensitivity change during play
✔ Play MMO, MOBA or productivity-heavy titles where more buttons mean more macros
✔ Want HyperScroll for both gaming and document/spreadsheet navigation
Consider something else if…
✖ You need wireless — see Razer Basilisk V3 Pro or Razer Basilisk V3 HyperSpeed
✖ You want the lightest possible mouse — at 101g the Basilisk V3 is feature-rich but not ultralight
✖ You are left-handed — the Basilisk V3 is right-hand only
