The SanDisk High Endurance 128GB microSDXC card is specifically designed for devices that write to the same storage space repeatedly over months and years — dashcams, home security cameras, CCTV systems, body cameras and similar continuous-recording devices. Standard microSD cards are optimised for the pattern of a smartphone or camera: write a batch of photos or videos, transfer them to a computer, write again. The NAND flash cells in a standard card are engineered to handle a finite number of write cycles, after which the cell becomes unreliable. In a dashcam or CCTV camera that records in a continuous loop — writing, overwriting and re-overwriting the same storage space 24 hours a day — a standard card may fail within weeks or months. The SanDisk High Endurance card uses a different NAND flash grade and wear-levelling algorithm specifically selected for this continuous-overwrite workload, enabling the card to sustain up to 60,000 hours of Full HD recording on the 128GB capacity. At 24 hours per day, 60,000 hours represents approximately 6.8 years of continuous recording. The 100MB/s read speed and 40MB/s write speed, combined with U3 and V30 ratings, provide the minimum performance required for recording Full HD and 4K video without dropped frames in compatible devices. The included RescuePRO Deluxe software (download) provides the ability to recover accidentally deleted footage. Genuine SanDisk. 10-year limited warranty.
60,000 Hours Endurance
Continuous Overwrite — Why Standard Cards Fail
NAND flash memory, the storage technology used in all microSD cards, has a physical limit to the number of times each storage cell can be written before it becomes unreliable. This limit — expressed as Program/Erase (P/E) cycles — varies by NAND type and grade. In a phone or camera, the same storage cell may be written a few thousand times over the device’s lifetime, which is well within the tolerance of standard NAND. In a dashcam recording continuously in a loop, the card reaches the end of the storage, erases the oldest footage, and begins writing again — repeatedly. At typical dashcam bitrates, a 128GB card completes a full overwrite cycle approximately every 8–12 hours of recording. Over a year of continuous use, the storage cells may experience thousands of overwrite cycles. Standard cards are not rated for this load and commonly fail with corrupted or unrecoverable footage. The SanDisk High Endurance card uses higher-grade NAND with more P/E cycle tolerance and a more aggressive wear-levelling algorithm that distributes writes evenly across all available cells, extending the usable life of the card to the rated 60,000 hours for this 128GB capacity under Full HD recording conditions. The figure is lower for 4K recording, which produces larger files and faster overwrite cycles.
U3 · V30 · 100MB/s
Performance for Dashcams and Security Cameras
The UHS-I U3 and V30 speed class ratings guarantee a minimum sustained write speed of 30MB/s regardless of how many overwrite cycles the card has accumulated. For dashcams and security cameras, the relevant specification is sustained write speed — the device is always writing, and if the card cannot sustain the minimum write rate, the recording device’s buffer fills and frames are dropped, creating gaps in the footage that could prove critical if the recording is needed as evidence. At 30MB/s minimum guaranteed, the card comfortably handles all current Full HD dashcam bitrates (typical dashcam Full HD recording at 1080p/30fps produces 8–12Mbps streams, which is approximately 1–1.5MB/s — well within the card’s capacity). 4K recording at higher bitrates of 40–100Mbps requires 5–12.5MB/s, also within the 30MB/s floor. The 100MB/s read speed allows recorded footage to be reviewed and transferred to a computer quickly when the card is removed and read via a card reader.

Built for Vehicles and Outdoor Cameras
Dashcam and outdoor security camera use exposes a microSD card to operating conditions that indoor consumer electronics do not encounter. A dashcam card in a car parked in direct summer sun may experience temperatures of 60–80°C+ inside the vehicle. An outdoor security camera card may operate in sub-zero winter temperatures for months. The SanDisk High Endurance card is tested to operate across a temperature range covering these conditions without data loss or performance degradation. Waterproof construction means the card continues to function if exposed to rain, car wash water or moisture ingress. Shockproof construction protects data through the vibration and physical impacts that a vehicle-mounted dashcam experiences daily. X-ray proof means the card’s stored data survives airport security screening. The included RescuePRO Deluxe data recovery software (downloadable, free redemption included with the card) provides a mechanism to recover footage from the card in the event of accidental deletion, formatting or file corruption — relevant for dashcam users who may need to recover specific footage after an incident.
Great choice if you…
✔ Use a dashcam that records in a continuous loop and overwrites old footage
✔ Run a home security camera or CCTV system recording 24/7
✔ Need a card that operates reliably in hot car interiors or cold outdoor environments
✔ Want U3/V30 performance for Full HD or 4K loop recording without dropped frames
✔ Want RescuePRO Deluxe included for potential footage recovery after an incident
Consider something else if…
✖ You need the card for a smartphone or camera — SanDisk Ultra or Extreme is more appropriate
✖ You need more than 128GB — SanDisk High Endurance is also available in 256GB
✖ You need the maximum possible endurance — see SanDisk Max Endurance (rated for up to 60,000 hours at 256GB)
