The NM Card format was developed by Huawei as a storage expansion standard that shares the nano SIM card slot. It is 34% smaller than a microSD card — the same size as the nano SIM in your phone right now. On devices with a dual SIM tray, one SIM slot can be repurposed for an NM card, or the NM card and SIM can coexist in supported dual nano SIM + NM tray configurations. This integration means storage expansion does not require a separate memory card slot or any modification to the device — the phone’s existing hardware supports it. No adapter, no protrusion, no compromise on the phone’s IP rating or physical design.

90MB/s sequential read and 85MB/s sequential write on the eMMC 5.1 protocol gives the NM Card sufficient bandwidth for 4K video recording at 60fps, 1080p slow-motion capture and rapid continuous photo bursts without the camera buffer stalling. For comparison, a standard microSD Class 10 card writes at 10MB/s minimum — this NM Card writes at nearly nine times that rate. File transfers to a computer are handled via Lexar’s NM Card reader (sold separately), which connects via USB. Speeds are consistent across the 512GB capacity — performance does not degrade as the card fills.
