The MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel is not a mechanical ratchet — it uses magnets to create a wheel that can spin completely freely or lock into precise click-to-click detents depending on how fast you scroll. Flick hard and it enters free-spin, covering 1,000 lines per second — useful for navigating long documents, spreadsheets, code files or web pages. Scroll slowly and it automatically snaps into precise mode, moving one line at a time. The switch between modes is seamless and instantaneous. Once you use MagSpeed, a standard scroll wheel feels like a step backwards.

The 8000 DPI optical sensor is the key upgrade over the MX Master 3 — it tracks accurately on glass desks, which the previous version could not. On fabric, wood, plastic and standard mouse pads the tracking is seamless regardless of surface texture. The 3S upgrade also makes the left and right click buttons 90% quieter than a standard mouse click. In open-plan offices, shared spaces or video calls, constant clicking is audible to others — the MX Master 3S eliminates this without any change to button feel or feedback.
Multi-Device + Customisation

Pair the MX Master 3S to up to three devices — PC, Mac, tablet or phone — and switch between them using the button on the underside. Logi Bolt provides a fast, secure wireless connection via the included USB receiver. Bluetooth works without the dongle. Logi Options+ software maps all seven buttons to per-app custom actions: assign different functions to the gesture button, thumb button, back/forward buttons and scroll wheel click in Photoshop, Chrome, Excel and any other application. Flow technology allows seamless cursor movement between multiple computers on the same network — paste text or drag files between machines.
