The 53mm neodymium drivers are angled rather than flat-mounted — a deliberate design choice that positions the drivers to better match the natural angle of the ear canal, improving clarity and depth of the soundstage. HyperX engineers tuned these specifically for gaming audio: footsteps, positional cues, environmental sounds and the frequency range most critical in competitive play. DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio is activated for life via the included code — a virtual 3D soundstage that significantly improves directional accuracy, particularly on PC.

10mm Noise-Cancelling · LED Mute
The 10mm microphone is an upgrade over the Cloud II’s mic — larger capsule, built-in mesh filter that physically blocks plosive sounds and background noise, and significantly improved voice clarity. The LED mute indicator on the earcup glows when the mic is muted so there is no ambiguity during calls. The mic detaches cleanly when not needed — useful for music listening, where a dangling mic arm is a nuisance. Onboard earcup controls handle volume and mute without navigating to desktop software or console menus.

The Cloud III uses a full aluminum frame — flexible enough to accommodate head shapes without cracking, rigid enough to survive the drops and compression that headsets routinely experience in gaming setups.
