The Logitech StreamCam Full HD webcam in Graphite is designed specifically for content creators and streamers — people who need a camera that produces a clean, professional image under variable conditions and whose workflow involves OBS, Streamlabs or similar broadcast software rather than a basic video call. The core specification is 1080p at 60 frames per second: the 60fps frame rate produces noticeably smoother motion than the 30fps standard of most webcams, which is most visible in head movements, gestures and the natural motion of talking — the image looks more like a broadcast feed and less like a webcam. The AI-powered facial tracking engine analyses the frame continuously, keeping autofocus on the face even when the subject moves toward or away from the camera rather than just side to side, and adjusting exposure to compensate for lighting changes. Portrait mode is the StreamCam’s distinctive differentiator for social media: the mounting clip rotates 90°, allowing the camera to be used in vertical orientation for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts content without post-production cropping. The dual front-facing microphones can be configured in stereo mode (capturing spatial audio with left/right separation) or dual mono mode (both capsules capturing the same signal, useful for noise cancellation in mono output streams). Logitech Capture software provides multi-camera mixing, scene transitions, graphic overlays, chroma key, and direct integration with Streamlabs and XSplit. The camera also works as a standard USB webcam in any application that supports UVC without any software. USB-C connects via USB 3.1 Gen 1 for full 1080p/60fps bandwidth; a USB 2.0 connection limits output to 720p/30fps. Genuine Logitech. 2-year warranty.
1080p · 60fps
Smooth Motion — Broadcast-Quality Video
Frame rate is the number of individual frames captured per second — 30fps captures 30 still images per second and displays them in sequence, while 60fps captures 60. The difference is most visible in motion: at 30fps, fast head movements, hand gestures and the natural motion of speaking produce a slight blur or judder that the viewer perceives as a ‘webcam’ quality. At 60fps, the same motion is captured with twice the temporal resolution, producing a smoother, more fluid image that more closely resembles a broadcast camera. This is why streamers and video producers prefer 60fps cameras — the output looks more intentional and professional than 30fps. The practical requirement for 1080p/60fps is a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 connection — the data rate of 1080p at 60fps exceeds what USB 2.0 can carry. If the StreamCam is connected to a USB 2.0 port or a USB-A to USB-C adapter that uses the USB 2.0 standard, the camera will automatically fall back to 720p/30fps. A genuine USB 3.1 Type-C port on the computer is required for full quality.
AI Facial Tracking
Smart Autofocus + Auto Exposure
Standard webcam autofocus uses contrast detection — it continuously adjusts lens focus to maximise contrast in the frame, which means it focuses on whatever is sharpest, not necessarily the subject. This works reliably when the subject is stationary and centred, but produces hunting and blur when the subject moves. The StreamCam’s AI-powered tracking identifies the human face in the frame and locks autofocus onto it specifically, tracking it as it moves left, right, toward and away from the camera. This means the subject remains in sharp focus during natural conversation movement without the camera losing focus on background objects and then refocusing back. The auto exposure system analyses the face rather than the average luminance of the frame — the same approach as RightLight in the BRIO — adjusting exposure to keep the face correctly lit when the background is bright or when ambient lighting changes. In Logitech Capture software, manual overrides for focus, exposure, white balance and other parameters are available for users who prefer manual control.
Portrait Mode · Dual Mics
Vertical Video · Stereo or Mono Audio
Portrait mode distinguishes the StreamCam from almost every other webcam in the category. The mounting clip is designed to allow the camera body to rotate 90° — in portrait orientation, the sensor captures a vertical 1080×1920 image rather than the standard 1920×1080 horizontal output. This is the correct native format for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and similar vertical social media content, eliminating the black bars and quality loss that come from filming horizontally and cropping the output in post-production. The dual front-facing microphones are positioned on either side of the lens housing to capture a stereo field that matches the video frame. Stereo mode captures spatially separated audio — sound from the left of frame comes predominantly from the left channel. Dual mono mode sends the same signal from both capsules to a single mono channel, which produces better noise cancellation and is preferable for voice-forward streams without music or spatial audio. The microphone mode is selectable in Logitech Capture software.
Great choice if you…
✔ Stream or record content for YouTube, Twitch, TikTok or Instagram
✔ Need 60fps for smooth motion in fast-paced or gesture-heavy video
✔ Create vertical video for social platforms without cropping horizontal footage
✔ Use OBS, Streamlabs or XSplit and want a camera with first-class software integration
✔ Have a USB-C 3.1 port on your laptop or PC for full 1080p/60fps output
Consider something else if…
✖ Your PC has USB-A only — USB 2.0 limits output to 720p/30fps; a USB 3.1 hub is needed
✖ You need 4K resolution or Windows Hello — see Logitech BRIO 4K Pro
✖ You primarily need a business call camera — the StreamCam is creator-optimised; BRIO or C920s better suits business-only use
