The Philips TAPH805 — travel ANC over-ears: up to 30h battery, quick charge, balanced Philips voicing, fold-flat build.
- ✓ Active Noise Cancelling for transit
- ✓ Up to 30 hours + quick charge
- ✓ Balanced, musical Philips tuning
- ✓ Wired fallback cable included
The Philips TAPH805 is the travel counterpart to home hi-fi: Bluetooth over-ears with active noise cancelling, up to 30 hours of playback, and quick-charge for the flight you almost missed. Philips voicing — balanced, musical — in a fold-flat shell built for the bag.
Quiet
Active Noise Cancelling
ANC strips the constant drone of engines and air conditioning, so long journeys get quieter and volumes stay safer.
Stamina
Up to 30 hours
A transatlantic round trip with daily commutes in between on one charge — and a short top-up adds hours when you forgot the cable.
Musical
Philips hi-fi voicing
Tuned closer to neutral than bass-cannon rivals: vocals and acoustic material keep their shape, which suits the brand’s hi-fi lineage.
Right choice if you…
✔ Fly or commute with ANC as the priority
✔ Want 30-hour battery — charge weekly, not daily
✔ Prefer balanced tuning over boom
✔ Need fold-flat portability
Consider something else if…
✖ All your listening is at home in quiet — the SHP9600 open-back sounds bigger for less
✖ You want earbuds — see the SHB2505
✖ Budget cap is tight — the SHB3075 covers wireless basics

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the ANC compare to flagship brands?
It cancels the low-frequency drone that matters most in transit; the very top ANC tier still edges it on voices — at two to three times the price.
Can I use it wired?
Yes — the included cable keeps it working with a flat battery and on in-flight systems.
Is 30 hours with ANC on?
Battery life varies with ANC and volume; expect the quoted maximum with ANC off and somewhat less with it engaged — still comfortably multi-day.
TAPH805 or SHP9600?
Different rooms: TAPH805 for the world (ANC, wireless), SHP9600 for the living room (open-back, wired). The honest answer for enthusiasts is eventually both.
