The EO-EG920BW uses a 12mm dynamic driver — significantly larger than the 6–9mm drivers found in most budget and mid-range wired earphones. Driver diameter is one of the factors that determines how much air a driver can move at low frequencies: a larger diaphragm displaces more air per cycle at bass frequencies, which contributes to bass extension and impact without requiring excessive excursion (cone movement) that causes distortion in smaller drivers. The 12mm driver in the EO-EG920BW gives it a bass presence and fullness that is noticeably greater than earphones with 8–9mm drivers at comparable price points. The 20Hz–20kHz frequency range covers the full audible spectrum without restriction at either end. Full Control from the Cable

The inline remote on the EO-EG920BW provides three buttons — volume up, volume down, and a centre multifunction button — alongside the built-in microphone. The three-button layout gives the user complete control of the device from the cable: volume up and down without reaching for the phone, play/pause and track skip from the centre button, and call answer/end. On Samsung Galaxy devices, the remote buttons communicate via the standard Samsung headset protocol, which fully supports volume control through the inline remote. On other Android devices, inline volume control compatibility depends on the device’s headset firmware; most Android devices from 2015 onwards support the CTIA three-button remote standard and will respond to the volume buttons. On iOS, the centre button functions for play/pause and call control, but volume control through the inline remote is not supported on iPhone — use the iPhone’s own volume buttons instead. The microphone is integrated into the remote housing and captures voice for calls and voice assistant commands. Will the volume buttons work on my Samsung Galaxy S20 or later?

Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, S24 and later, and Note 10+ do not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. To use the EO-EG920BW with these phones, you need the Samsung USB-C to 3.5mm adapter (EE-UC10JUWEGWW). With that adapter fitted, the earphone’s volume buttons, microphone and call controls all work as expected — the adapter passes through the full headset protocol to the phone.

Do the volume buttons work on iPhone?

The centre button (play/pause, call answer/end) works on iPhone. The dedicated volume up/down buttons on the Samsung remote are not recognised by iOS — volume adjustment on iPhone requires the iPhone’s own physical volume buttons. The microphone works for calls on iPhone via the 3.5mm connection.

Is the EO-EG920BW the same earphone that came in the box with my Galaxy S7?
