Splitting the work this way keeps the sound clear and balanced rather than muddy, and the tuning is by AKG, the audio brand Samsung uses across its Galaxy earphones. The frequency response runs from 20Hz to 20kHz with 94.3dB sensitivity and 32-ohm impedance. Because they connect digitally over USB-C with a built-in DAC, there is no extra adapter and no loss from a cheap dongle — what you hear comes from Samsung’s own conversion chip.

Made for Phones Without a Headphone Jack

Most current Galaxy phones, tablets and many other Android devices no longer have a 3.5mm socket, so these earphones plug directly into the USB-C port. They work with Galaxy S, Z Fold and Z Flip phones and Galaxy Tab tablets, and with most other USB-C devices that support digital audio output, including iPad and iPhone 15 or later for listening. The in-line remote has volume up and down buttons and a play/pause/call button, with a built-in microphone for calls and voice notes. Full remote functions are designed for Android; on other devices, playback and microphone support can vary.

The cable has a fabric outer layer that is much less prone to tangling and kinking than a standard rubber cable, so the earphones come out of a pocket or bag ready to use. Silicone ear tips in three sizes — small, medium and large — are included; finding the right size gives a better seal, which improves bass and blocks outside noise. The whole set weighs about 18 grams. They need no charging and never drop out, making them a reliable everyday pair, a spare for travel, or a simple choice for calls at work.
