The SanDisk Cruzer Blade CZ50 64GB USB 2.0 flash drive is the classic black-and-red SanDisk pen drive — tiny, light and plug-and-play on almost anything with a USB-A port. 64GB is plenty for documents, coursework, photos and a music library for the car.
- ✓ 64GB in a 41.5mm, roughly 3g body — barely larger than the connector itself
- ✓ USB 2.0 interface, works in USB 3.0 ports and older USB 2.0 ports alike
- ✓ Plug-and-play on Windows and Mac, no drivers needed — great for car stereos and TVs
- ✓ Supports SanDisk SecureAccess password-protection software (free download)
The SanDisk Cruzer Blade 64GB is one of the best-known USB sticks ever made: a slim black-and-red drive (model SDCZ50-064G-B35) that does one job dependably at a low price. It uses USB 2.0, so it is not the fastest drive for moving huge video files, but for documents, presentations, photos, printing at a shop or loading music onto a car stereo it is exactly what most people need.
The capless, ultra-compact body measures just 7.4 × 17.6 × 41.5mm and weighs around 3g, so it disappears into a pocket, pencil case or keyring. It works in any USB-A port — including USB 3.0 ports — and is plug-and-play on Windows and macOS. SanDisk SecureAccess software can be downloaded free to keep private files in a password-protected vault, and the drive carries a manufacturer warranty.
Size
Tiny, Light, Capless
The Cruzer Blade is little more than a USB connector with a slim grip. At 41.5mm long and around 3g, it fits on a keyring through the loop at the back, slides into a wallet pocket and sits almost flush in a laptop, car stereo or TV port where a bulky drive could get knocked. There is no cap to lose — the connector is protected by the design itself. Black and red, it is easy to spot in a bag or on a crowded desk.
Compatibility
USB 2.0 — Works Almost Everywhere
USB 2.0 is supported by virtually every computer, TV, car stereo, printer and media player made in the last twenty years, which is the real strength of the Cruzer Blade. It also works in newer USB 3.0 and USB 3.2 ports, simply at USB 2.0 speed. Transfer speeds are modest compared with USB 3.0 drives, so it suits documents, photos and music rather than large 4K video files. If a car stereo or TV does not read it, reformatting to FAT32 on a computer usually solves the issue.
Security
SecureAccess Password Protection
SanDisk SecureAccess is a free download that creates a password-protected, encrypted vault on the drive, so if the stick is lost, the files inside it stay private. It is useful for coursework, work documents or personal records you carry around. The drive itself needs no software to work — SecureAccess is optional. SanDisk backs the Cruzer Blade with a manufacturer warranty, and the 64GB capacity gives room for tens of thousands of photos or documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB 2.0 or USB 3.0?
It is USB 2.0. It works in USB 3.0 and USB 3.2 ports, but at USB 2.0 speed. For faster transfers of large files, choose a USB 3.0 drive such as the SanDisk Cruzer Glide 3.0.
Will it work in my car stereo?
In most cases, yes — car stereos use USB 2.0, which this drive supports natively. If the stereo does not find your music, reformat the drive to FAT32 on a computer and copy MP3 files onto it again.
How much does 64GB hold?
Roughly 15,000 phone photos, around 12,000 songs or several hours of HD video, depending on file sizes. Formatted capacity is slightly below 64GB because part of the space is used by the file system.
Does it work with Mac?
Yes. It is plug-and-play on macOS and Windows. To use one drive on both, format it as exFAT. SanDisk SecureAccess software is available for both Windows and Mac.
Why is there no capacity printed on the drive?
The Cruzer Blade range uses the same black-and-red body for every size; capacity is shown on the retail packaging and when you plug it into a computer.
