Why 6.5A and Why the Cable Matters

OnePlus Warp Charge 65 operates at 10V and 6.5A, delivering 65W to the phone. The power equation (watts = volts × amps) means that at a fixed 10V, the only variable the cable controls is how much current it can safely carry. A standard USB-C cable carries 3A — at 10V that is 30W, roughly half of Warp Charge 65’s capability. A 5A cable reaches 50W at 10V, still short of 65W. Only a cable rated for 6.5A continuous current allows the full 65W to flow. OnePlus’s D307 cable is the correct cable for any OnePlus device that supports Warp Charge 65, 45W or lower Warp/DASH tiers — the 6.5A rating covers the full current range across all OnePlus charging tiers up to 65W. For the 150W and 160W SUPERVOOC devices (OnePlus 10T, Ace Pro, Ace Racing) which require 10A, the separate OnePlus 160W cable is the appropriate choice. The D307 is the correct cable for the majority of OnePlus devices launched from 2016 through to current Nord and number series models.

The D307 cable uses a silicone outer jacket rather than the standard PVC or TPE coating found on most USB cables. Silicone is more flexible at low temperatures than PVC — it does not stiffen and crack in cold environments — and is more resistant to the kinking and memory deformation that PVC cables develop over time from being coiled or folded. The cable’s internal conductors use high-grade copper combined with nickel, which improves both conductivity and corrosion resistance at the wire surface. Standard copper alone oxidises over time at cut ends and connector interfaces, gradually increasing resistance — nickel plating on the conductors slows this process. The USB-C connectors at each end are injection-moulded in a separate process to the cable housing, reinforcing the mechanical connection between the connector body and the cable strain relief — the point most prone to failure on high-use cables. OnePlus’s red and white colour scheme on the D307 is consistent across all Warp Charge cables and visually distinguishes official Warp Charge cables from generic white or black USB-C cables in a multi-cable workspace or bag.

OnePlus 7 Pro, 7T, 7T Pro reach 30W. OnePlus 6T, 6, 5T, 5, 3T and 3 reach DASH Charge speeds (20W). OnePlus 10 Pro reaches 80W (cable supports it; adapter must supply 80W). What is the difference between this cable and the OnePlus 160W 10A cable?

This D307 cable is rated at 6.5A — the correct cable for Warp Charge 65W and all OnePlus devices up to 65W. The 160W cable is rated at 10A and is required for OnePlus 10T, Ace Pro and Ace Racing devices that support 150W or 160W SUPERVOOC. For all other OnePlus devices (OnePlus 3 through 11 series, Nord range), the D307 is the correct cable.

Will this cable charge my OnePlus at 65W if I use a non-OnePlus charger?

No. Warp Charge 65 requires both a compatible OnePlus Warp Charge 65 adapter and this cable. A third-party USB-PD charger — even one rated at 65W USB-PD — will not trigger Warp Charge on a OnePlus device, because Warp Charge is a proprietary protocol that only activates when the charger and cable are both OnePlus certified. With a third-party charger, the phone falls back to standard USB-C PD speeds.

Is this cable compatible with the OnePlus 12 and 13?

Yes for charging — the cable’s USB-C connectors are universal. OnePlus 12 and 13 support up to 100W SUPERVOOC; this cable’s 6.5A rating supports charging up to 65W on those devices. For the full 80–100W speeds on OnePlus 12 and 13, the 10A cable is the correct choice. For everyday charging at 65W, this cable works without issue.

Can I use this cable to charge a MacBook or iPad?
