Current is what stresses a cable — and 6.5A is more than double the 3A a typical USB-C lead is engineered for. The DL129 uses heavier-gauge conductors and proper shielding so it carries that current without heat build-up, voltage drop or long-term connector wear. Why does my OPPO charge slowly with other cables?

SUPERVOOC needs a 6.5A-rated cable to deliver full power. A standard USB-C cable is rated around 3A, so the charger detects it and falls back to normal charging speed to stay safe. Swap in a DL129-spec cable and full speed returns.

Which phones does it fast-charge?

OPPO SUPERVOOC models across the Find X2/X3/X5, Reno4–Reno8 and F17/F19 ranges, plus SUPERVOOC-equipped Realme phones. VOOC and Quick Charge devices charge at their own supported speeds.

Does it work with non-OPPO phones?

Yes — on any USB-C phone it works as a standard charge and data cable. The 65W SUPERVOOC speed only activates with an OPPO/Realme SUPERVOOC charger and device negotiating together.

Do I need the OPPO charger as well, or just the cable?

Both matter: the SUPERVOOC charger generates the power, the cable carries it, and the phone accepts it. If your original charger is fine and only the cable is worn or lost, this is the only part you need to replace.

Does fast charging at 65W damage the battery?

SUPERVOOC runs high current at low voltage, so most of the heat stays in the charger rather than the phone — heat being the main thing that ages a battery. Using the correctly rated cable is part of that safety design.
