The 53mm drivers are larger than the 40mm units found in most headsets at this price, which allows the diaphragm to move more air and reproduce bass frequencies with more physical impact. The 15Hz–25kHz frequency response extends below and above the range of human hearing — capturing the sub-bass environmental audio that communicates the scale and weight of in-game environments. The included USB-A sound card processes 7.1 virtual surround by applying head-related transfer functions to stereo input, placing positional audio cues at different points around the head. On PC, this is a meaningful advantage for directional awareness in competitive games — footsteps, reloads and environmental sounds carry spatial information that helps locate threats. The sound card also provides an in-line volume dial and dedicated mic mute button for quick adjustments without leaving the game.

Aluminium Frame · Memory Foam

Built to Last — Wears Well for Long Sessions

The aluminium frame on the Cloud II was one of its defining features at launch and remains relevant — the headset does not develop the structural creaks and flex that plastic headbands accumulate through daily use. The extension sliders click into position rather than slipping. Memory foam ear cushions and headband padding take the shape of the ear and head rather than pressing uniformly against them, distributing clamping force more evenly across the contact area. The ear cushions are replaceable — HyperX and third-party replacements are widely available, which means the headset can be returned to new-condition comfort after extended use. Two sets of ear cushions are included in the box: leatherette for standard use and velour for breathability during longer sessions or in warmer environments.

Detachable Mic · Dual Connection

Discord Certified — USB or 3.5mm

The noise-cancelling microphone is Discord and TeamSpeak certified — verified clear voice quality and background noise rejection. It plugs into the left earcup for gaming and calls, and detaches cleanly when not needed, leaving a headphone rather than a gaming headset. The adjustable boom arm positions the microphone capsule at the correct proximity to the mouth for optimal pick-up. Two cables are included: USB-A for PC connection with 7.1 surround and the sound card controls; and a 3.5mm cable for PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox controllers with headphone jack, and mobile devices. The 3.5mm connection also works on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via the controller jack without requiring the USB sound card. Compatible with Mac via 3.5mm or USB-A (stereo only on Mac, no 7.1 surround).
