The G502 Shape, Much Lighter

The original G502 HERO weighs 121g before its removable weights are added; the G502 X Wired comes in at 89g. Logitech got there with a thin-wall exoskeleton that uses the minimum material while staying rigid, and a lightened scroll wheel. The result is the same familiar sculpted shape — a deep thumb rest on the left and a high, supportive back — that is noticeably quicker to move and stop, and less tiring over long sessions. The trade-off is that the G502 X family no longer uses removable weights, so if you liked tuning the weight of the old G502, that option is gone. The shape is designed for the right hand only and suits palm and claw grips with medium to large hands. It glides on PTFE feet for smooth, consistent movement on cloth and hard pads.

Thirteen programmable controls cover the main clicks, a scroll wheel that clicks and tilts left and right, forward and back, DPI up and down and a DPI-shift “sniper” button that drops sensitivity while held for precise aiming. The DPI-shift button has been redesigned: remove it and reverse it to bring it closer to your thumb, or fit the included blank cover if you never use it and want to avoid accidental presses. The scroll wheel switches with a click between ratcheted steps for precise scrolling and a hyper-fast free spin for long pages.
